BOTS2016 Beats All Previous Records

Organisers of the bank holiday Bands on the Square music festival are pretty certain that this year’s event broke all previous records.
The event, held in Barnoldswick Town Centre over three days and two nights, attracted crowds estimated in their thousands, from right across the region & beyond.
Bands on the Square is run by volunteers under the banner of the town council, and features acts who also appear on a voluntary basis.
There’s no admission fee either, although it’s hoped costs will be recouped by donations collected at the end of each day.
This year stage manager Emma West was deluged with requests to appear on stage, as the annual event gains ever more credibility.
Remarkably, over the three days only one arrest was made, and there were only isolated reports of slight disorder.
As one festival goer told Drystone Radio news “we’re here to have fun – and fun is what we’re going to have”!
