Keelham Farm Shop In Line For Several Top Awards

As a business in Skipton gets set to celebrate its first anniversary in the town, it’s been revealed the company is in line for a clutch of top awards

Keelham Farm Shop took over the derelict former Nicholas Smith Car Showroom on Gargrave road, and after a massive rebuilding and refurbishment project, opened for business a year ago this month.

The business, which also has a store in Thornton, is an ethical trader, with a policy of sourcing as much of its stock locally as possible.

While major supermarket chains were being castigated for policies of throwing away misshaped fruit and veg, Keelham launches a veg exchange scheme later this month.

They’re encouraging local gardeners to bring their excess produce in, and exchange for vouchers to spend in the store.

Now the company’s credentials have received a massive boost as they reach the finals of the national Delicious Produce Awards, where judges include Prue Leith and Sophie Grigson.

One of the three Keelham products that have made the Lodon Finals is their Yorkshire steak, potato and Tipsy Pig Ale pie
