And Keighley fire-fighters have yet again been called in to deal with an unusual and pretty hazardous job in the centre of the town

The crew has an unenviable record of having to deal with bizarre incidents, including animal rescues

And yesterday was no exception when they were called to the town’s bus station, where a young Sparrowhawk had become stuck

The bird of prey was spotted in a state of panic yesterday morning, but attempts to entice the frightened creature down from the eaves were to no avail

That’s when the team from Keighley fire station stepped in, and launched their rescue mission

Wearing protective clothing one fire-fighter climbed a ladder and captured the bird by throwing a blanket over it

The RSPCA has now taken the creature into safe custody
