No through trains are running between Bradford and Ilkley today, following a landslip that affected the line at Baildon yesterday.

In a repeat of what has happened to the Settle-Carlisle line, the landslip was caused by flash flooding following yesterdays localised downpours.

Northern has organised a replacement bus service between Shipley and Guiseley, which will remain in place until repairs are carried out.

The Settle-Carlisle was closed at Eden Brows near Armathwaite after a landslip involving half a million tonnes of earth was caused by freak downpours in February.

At the time Network Rail said the line would be closed for several months, and once again a replacement bus service was laid on, which is still in place.

No-one from Network Rail could be contacted last night about the closure of the line at Baildon, but Northern has apologised for any inconvenience caused to passengers.
