A couple from Silsden who spent almost £70,000 to have their deceased dog cloned in Korea have been talking about why they took the extraordinary step

Laura Jacques and Richard Remde said they had been left devastated when their Boxer named Dylan died, despite already having four other dogs

Their love of animals is beyond dispute – when they bought their new home they set up a corner of their adjacent paddock as a pet cemetery they told the Guardian newspaper

After Dylan died they had cells removed from his body – which is now stored in a freezer – and took them to the specialist facility in Korea where Dylan became the world’s first ever deceased boxer to be cloned

Now two puppies have been born, and are eagerly awaited at their new home in the small West Yorkshire town
